Racing for Mikey Lake Placid 2012Press Release For immediate Release...
Fund Raising Update - December 2012

Dear Friends, Family & Clients,

First off, I think a large thank you is in store for all of you who donated towards The Mikey Czech Foundation.  It was an honor to Race for Mikey, and your donations were icing on the cake. The months of June, July and August I had the pleasure of getting quick donation updates from Jennifer Czech coming in through the website. From neighbors, family friends, business clients... Thank you!

On top of the personal donations - In the month of July 2012,  ESydor Tech donated $25 to the Mikey Czech Foundation for each of our tech houses call we made.  The combined total from online donations and the ESydor Tech donation came to a grand total of $1,500.00

Thank you all again!  It's great to know that the Foundation is able to put our monies towards finding a cure for pediatric brain tumors...

Sincerely,

Eric Sydor

Racing for Mikey 2013 - -

August 22, 2013 - Eric Sydor of Westport, CT. will participate in his second full distance Ironman, the Mont Tremblant Ironman Triathlon. The race comprises of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 bike, and a 26.2 run. He is dedicating his race to Mikey Czech, an 11 year old who died of a pediatric brain tumor. Although Mikey’s motto (borrowed from Winton Churchill) was Never Never Never Give Up, he lost his battle on September 7, 2008.

Mikey’s parents Jennifer and Stephen Czech of New Canaan, Connecticut have created the Mikey Czech Foundation with a goal to establish the world’s leading neuro-oncology research lab to help cure pediatric brain tumors. Because these tumors are rare, investments in medical research dollars to find a cure have been scarce. The foundation will approve grants to support research at healthcare, education, and medical research facilities throughout the United States. They hope to raise 6 million dollars.

For Eric Sydor, the challenges of the Ironman Lake Placid Triathlon seemed an appropriate opportunity to focus on the challenges of the Foundation. Donations can be made through the Mikey Czech website – www.mikeyczech.org, click the Donate Button, and Select “Racing for Mikey” in the drop down. The Mikey Czech Foundation is a registered 501c3 non-profit foundation. All donations are tax deductible.

Please help support Eric and help Race for a Cure by Donating to the Mikey Czech Foundation. Make sure to choose the "Racing for Mikey" pull-down. Thank you!

Racing for Mikey Lake Placid 2012Press Release / Lake Placid Race Report
By: Eric Sydor, Race #1436
Posted 1/8/2013

With the help from friends, family and clients... Racing for Mikey was a big success this year. Here's a much overdue race report from Ironman Lake Placid, a financial update on how much we raised, and what's in store for next year.

July 22nd 7:00am the canon went off and Mike Reilly the voice of Ironman proclaimed the race had begun for the 2800 competitors. Having made my way from the olympic circle putting fresh drinks into my transition bags, walking towards the lake the atmosphere was eletric. Everywhere I looked were people just like me who had trained 9+ months for this one day in July, and just getting to the starting line healthy enough to compete is a challenge in of itself. With U2 blaring, the mist rising off Mirror Lake and the crowds lining the shores it was go time. Found myself about 3 persons back from the starting line, fully aware that 2800 competitive people were about to turn the lake into a lake full or pirnana.
